Type 9 - Where used?

The Sierra Type 9 g/box may have been used on other Ford vehicles. Was the Transit one of these? What others were there?

Hoping to use info as a guide for alternative propshaft end, as Sierra items seem to be very thin on ground. Got one from the 'Bay, but its the rubber donut type.

P100 used the type 9 , Some Capri's and Granada's. Don't think the Transit's used them but could be wrong

the Transit type 9 has a totally different extension housing and top cover (the gearstick is mounted on the side of the top cover)

The P100 petrol still used the dreadful diesel type ratios. Only good for using as a PX against an exchange.

Gearboxes used in commercials will have had a very hard life lugging the extra weight vans and pickups are bought for, best to look elsewhere.

Thanks for all your replies. However, its not the gearbox I'm searching for, but the propshaft end which mates with the g/box output shaft (1"dia, 20 splines - info from this forum). Scrappers & Ebay sources suggest these are getting scarcer.

Thnx for the offer, much appreciated. Tyne&Wear is a bit of a stretch for me, so I'll keep nosing around the local scrappers.

mk3 granada's (89 to 94) use type 9's on the pinto engined ones and some of the older/smaller v6's I think
the DOHC, 2.9 V6's etc used MT75 boxes instead

basically they use the same combinations as the sierra's

(if I get a chance I'll see if I've still got a prop from one of them)
