Fury Zetec Exhaust
I'm getting to the point where I am looking to fit the CAT and silencer to my exhaust manifold on my Fury. Having spoken to Steve at Fury the
cost of the silencer that he supplies seems really expensive and I was wondering if there is another option to fit rather than the one they supply?
Can anyone tell me what they have fitted, where they got it from? Could also do with an idea of the dimensions of the silencer and CAT so I can work
out what size parts I will need for the fit.
If anyone has pictures of their setup with a CAT fitted on the Fury that would be a great help.

Mine was a Fisher mani and silencer but no cat. Very quiet and ideal for iva and track days.

Aaaaaagggghhhh!!!!
I had fisher modify the mondeo cat that came with my '97 2.0l silvertop, chopped off the ends and welded on tubes to fit the manifold/can. Just
about fitted in the side pod but needed a fair bit of heat protection inside the pod and around the cat. It would have been available but I had a
clear out of my shed last weekend and it went down the tip, sorry !
Worth remembering to put ventilation holed under the side pod and possible in the front of the pod, I used a 30mm hole saw to perforate the underside
and some heat shield on the underside of the bonnet over the manifold. I would not advise using exhaust wrap on the manifold as this just transfers
the heat into the pod.

As Warren says; think it was noise tested at something like 94db at 3/4 rpm. Very quiet.

Ok, sounds like the Fury sportscars one is good but having looked at Tigers which is local to me it is half the price of the Fury one, Stainless too
but I suppose the Fury one should be way better quality due to the price.
Thanks for the pictures, gives me an idea of how its mounted in the pod. I was going to put the vent holes in the pod as Ive heard it gets very warm
in there. Is it worth putting heat mat around the pod especially around the CAT?

I lined the whole pod and cockpit side with the fibreglass/aluminium material. Make sure you get high temp impact adhesive as well.
I did not have any problems until one of the injector drivers in the ecu failed which turned the engine into a straight twin plus a fuel/air pump
which combusted nicely in the cat. Got a bit warm but spotted it early so did not torch the car.

Phew, that could have been nasty. Yep I have my plans but I'm having to wait for the body work at the moment as the original mold for the body
has been damaged so Steve is having to make a new one.
