the V6 has a totally different bellhousing to the 4cly engines - sorry

I think its the one from the 2.0 DOHC that your looking for - but do a little search through the old threads here and you'll find out whats involved....

2.0 L dohc sierra and granada. Both these are cable clutch. The latter ultima has one that's a hydraulic clutch.

There is the 2.0 L 4wd sierra box as well.

The v6 boxes as said won't bolt to a zetec

Why MT75?

Most people use Type 9's, I do with my Blacktop.

Whilst the MT75 may be ultimately stronger the type 9 has many advantages. For starters its smaller and there are several aftermarket sets of good gear ratios available that together with upgrades to the laygear make a box that has adequate strength for all but the most powerful turbo engine.

Get an RS2000 alloy bellhousing and any weight advantage the MT75 had evaporates.

No chance of getting kicked out for a 'locost build question'.
Especially as it is petrol power motivated.:-) :-) :-)

just checking - are you thinking about the MT75 because thats what in the 90's transits ?
the transit version of the MT75 is very 'squashed' with the gear linkage moved quite far forward compared with the sierra / granada versions

here's the dimensions for the sierra DOHC one:

and loads more info here:

sierra/granada version:

As said the transit box is a bit different and unless your sitting in the back you will want a transit box.

no i plan one out of a sierra , the shifter in a mk1 one is anyway quite uncomfy pretty wide infront of the seat. The mt 75 just because it is stronger then the t9 . If you guys like to hear more about i can tell you what our plans are. We wanna spend the winter in portugal with the car ,then put it on a ferry to the states (boston )and we wanna cross America before we go to south east asia. Not sure if we can take the car to south east asia ,but we will inform us by the time we spen in portugal. My mk1 has only 10000 km on it but the v4 is pretty loud and for todays standards a good choice for a tractor. With the zetec and the 5 speed we can trave at a speed with 100- 120 kmh without any trouble and much better gas mileage.... we hope so. I dont wanna go to much ot if anyone like to know more i can send him the link of our blog.
As soon i start with the rwd conversion i will updat you guys. :-)
Thanks for any help

well in that case it should be fairly easy to find a box from a sierra, granada or scorpio with a DOHC engine

just look for the later ones with 2.0 engines
