zetec breather

Hi hopefully a few of you can help me. Im running a 1.8 silvertop zetec in my mk1 fiesta.
im running the standard injection 130spec. (Apart from ecu which is the ball ecu)
I want to tidy it all up and get rid of unnecessary wires ect. I was reading up on tanking off the 3 bolt engine breather located on the front of the block.
it seems like this cant be done unless your running a dry sump is this coreect? If I do.need to keep it as it is do I need the wires and that weird vacume sensor thing that connects to it. I unplugged the sensor and it seemed to run ok. I just want the essential sensors and wires needed to run the engine.

I bought a core plug off ebay to plug it with looks tidier than bolting plates on
Threw all the crap away and connected the rocker breather to a catch tank
They dont breath heavy anyway - its fine

Oh really? I dont mind making a proper blanking plate with 3 bolts but ive been reading that that bottom end needs to breathe?
Are you running a dry sump? I would love to get rid of all that crap

Yep, i did this too, and used one of these link

not sure if it'd affect your injection though as I was on carbs, but I doubt it, its just a non return valve

No,Normal sump
They create very little pressure compared with other engines
The crank breather was more for emissions than crank pressure
Itll be fine with the core plug and breath off the rocker cover

You will have to take top breather to a catch tank. I fitted a KN filter to mine and there was a very slight mist coming out of it. This made a wright mess under the bonnet after about 2 years. I fitted the same filter on a catch tank, problem gone.

Thanks guys ill make a little plate up. ive got a catch tank laying around i did have it on by nothing came out of the breather then so ill put it back once its blanked. I know a lot of people say it needs to breath from down there but i cant really see the difference if its from there or the top like you guys say so the confirmation was good. I think they say it will blow by the rings ect but i could never see how as id imagine the pressure would take the easiest route via the oil galleries upto the rocker and out of that breather.
Thanks for the help guys.
