rover v8 bolt size, front of oil pump housing?

thanks Dave Smith for the photo !

Anyone by chance happen to know the bolt thread size for the bolt holding Dave's sensor in place and the one to the left?

I am trying to use both of them to hold my sensor in place, like Dave has, but apart from us guessing it is imperial, not sure of the thread.

I can't really get to these in my engine bay so am sort of working blind and both a metric and imperial bolt get started and then get tight quickly. I am reluctant to turn harder in case I mash the thread.

anyone happen to know?

many thanks in advance.

Chris

I thought that photo looked familiar If I had to guess it'd be 5/16 UNC, which is close enough to M8 to get an M8 bolt about half a turn in before it binds up.

after a bit more googling I went for it with 5/16 UNC... they went in, one on the left felt a little loose, the one on the right a bit tight!, but they both tightened up...

cheers
