Tran-X still going?
I'm after a straight cut type 9 gearbox, when I looked about a year ago I had seen the Tran-X type 9 as a quite cost effective solution with a
wide variety of ratios available. I had planned on taking my cheque book to Autosport in January but I can't see them on the exhibitor list and
their website says "undergoing maintenance"
Have they gone bust?
If so can anyone recommend an alternative type 9 straight cut? I know Quaife but this is last resort as considerably more expensive.
Cheers

Not as such, i think they were bought out by Quaife.
I heard a couple of the chaps set up on their own, but i can't remember what the company was called.
I think Trans X kits are still available (Burton show the Synchro kit) and could be built into a box by some one like BGH (could be worth asking them
anyway - very helpful).
We've got a Trans X in the Escort. Been superb.
Hope that helps.

I put a Tran-X diff in a 330bhp mk2 Astra turbo a good few years back as they were slightly cheaper then Quaife and had good reviews. I'm
always one for more competition in the market place, so as long as Quaife don't just absorb them and jack their prices up....
Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity!

Thanks. The website layout and pricing looks very similar to Tran-X and they are at AutoSport so might pay them a visit.
Cheers guys
