Acousta-fill ?

I might get time tomorrow to repack my exhaust. Got some Acousta-fil for it. I know people have said the on-line calculator recommends using too much and ends up over-packed....

So how much should I use?

5"can with a 2" perf' tube.

yes, it says WAY too much!

I cant remember for sure, but half the amount springs to mind.... I'll try and find out

I did mine with the stated amount and it was a struggle to get it in it was that tightly packed!

have a look at the last few posts on here

There's two versions of Acoustafil, One is the version that expands, but they also do a competition version that is more of a traditional matting.

It's the compressed stuff I have. A bit of searching/reading and it looks like the consensus is 60-70% of what the calculator says.

I would say less than that. I bought as much as the calculator told me (rounded up to the nearest unit), and I reckon I have enough for another 2 repacks after my original. I made it look like the photo on their website - use that as a guide rather than the calculator!

To get it to look like the "before" pictures for acousta-fill on the net, took about 1/2 what the on-line calculator said.

Sounds better but that can be deceptive, so I'll get it noise tested at weekend.
