Oil pressure warning
Just changed the oil and filter in my 4AGE 20v and now the oil pressure warning light stays on.
I've run the engine on idle for 30 secs expecting it to go out once the oil starts circulating but turned off when I realised it wasn't
going to.
Any ideas?

Maybe just never left it running long enough. Sometimes seems like ages waiting for the light to go out. If it ran with pressure before I
can't see why it won't have any now unless something else was replaced.
Edit:Also check sensor connection.

You don't have a large puddle under the car ?

Nothing else replaced. Just worried leaving it running too long if no oil is pumping around the engine.
Is it worth giving it a few low revs as well?
Oil level on dip stick is good so not sure why a simple oil change would make a difference unless the sensor has died.

First guess is the wrong oil filter ?
Many canister oil filters have a one way valve built to keep the filter and oil pump primed and on most oil filters the oil flows from the outside
into the centre but not all do.

No puddles or drips under the car. I'll double check the filter. I switched to a Mahler OC 11 on RAW's recommendation so maybe this is
the issue.

Maybe an air lock in the filter. Few revs might sort it.

I spoke with RAW earlier and turns out the oil filter might be the wrong type. I need to go and get another one.

It has been my experience that taking the rocker cover oil filling cap off when the engine is running normally results in oil all over the me, if this
oil shower is not present then I would be worried about where the oil was,.....
not an ideal way of checking but works for me
hope the new filter fixes it
