Westfield Turbobusa Problem!!!
Hoping I can get some help on this problem that I am struggling with,
The car is a Westfield Turbobusa series one engine 1999,
It will start up on the turn of the key every single time and run on takeover all day long, if you give the engine a few blips when the engine is warm
it is still fine, however if you was to hold the revs at around 5000 rpm or above for say five seconds or more and then take your foot off the
accelerator immediately it will stall within a few seconds (non instantly) this makes no difference if you are stationary or moving in the vehicle, it
will always start up again straight away with no problems at all.
Myself and a friend had money on it being the fuel pump as it was making a strange noise every now and again so I brought a brand-new one and fitted
it but have tried it out today and it makes no difference, I am pretty sure that it's something to do with the fuelling (not100%) but
can't put my finger on it do you have any ideas, I have also purchased a brand-new air filter.
I must stress that this is a new development and is not a problem that has been there from day one. The engine was recently rebuilt by Bigcc Racing
but has been used a fair bit since so it's not going to be connected with the rebuild in anyway.
I would be especially interested in anyone that has had the same problem and found a solution.

Sounds to me like TPS sensor either wrong or not set up correctly.

Hi
It's a good shout, but I would be massively surprised if that was the issue. As it was working fine for a long time and has now inherited this
problem throttle position has never been touched.

Don't know much about bike engines, let alone turbo'd ones but may be a blocked or dislodged vacuum pipe, maybe to a wastegate, dump valve
or the fuel regulator.

Hi
Air leak etc could be possible although I have done a leak down test on the motor but it has been used since so certainly worth considering.
