k series to type 9 gearbox
Please could someone tell me if I need a long input shaft type 9 gearbox to mount a k series engine to the type 9 using caterham ali bellhousing.

Well I have a similar setup, K series (with no hole for a spigot bearing!), Caterham bellhousing and short shaft Type 9 and the input shaft is too
short! So, I guess the answer is yes! There are quite a few threads on here about it I believe.

As with the Vauxhall Red Top in a Caterham you need the long input shaft box but it needs shortening a little to avoid grounding in the crank, 10mm
springs to mind. Easily done with a grinder, chamfer the end to match original.
