Leaking exhaust header
I'm running a V4 so it's two pipes into one before the exhaust on both sides so there's two stainless pipes going into one pipe at a
Y junction. Only issue is there's a pinhole leak in the junction. You can actually hear it (albeit it is subtle) and see black grot which has
been blown out on to the stainless. They were made up about 20 years ago so remedial action by the original supplier isn't an option! Issue is
I'm struggling to work out how to repair especially as I cannot get my index finger up the pipe to reach the back surface of the junction. And
presumably anything I put on the outside of the header will look horrible unless transparent and likely just get blown off. ?? some exhaust paste on
stick up into the junction and to smear it liberally on the back of the junction? Thankfully it's not the side I'm going to running a
lambda sensor but it does sound wrong and that side does back-fire as a result on occasion.

I expect you will need to cut off the collector further down, weld up from the inside then rejoin everything......

So kind of the opposite of what I want to hear I'm sure there's some magic goo somewhere that'll do the trick

yep, its called heated welding rod/wire (heated via gas or electric arc that is, it's magic goo, cos usually only welders can do it)
Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.
