How much ?????
I am looking at boring out the 1600 xflow to 1700, skimming the top of the block because it look like it needs it (pitted), lightening the flywheel
and balancing the crank assembley and a new fast road cam. How much would you expect to pay for this work?
( I only took the engine to bits because the oil pressure was high and i thought it would benifit from a good thorough clean, Oh yeah and because the
car was in the garage after the front n/s lower wishbone decided to bend ).
(Nice of the missus to pay for it for my Xmas present too)

Hi Kitlooney,
I recently had my xflow done - I had it bored out 60thou (1660cc ish), hi comp pistons, new valve srings, bronze valve guides, lightened flywheel, all
new bearings, crank re-grind, new piper cam, head and block skimmed, new hp oil pump, and all gaskets seals etc. He then built up the bottom end
timing in the cam properly with an offset dowel.
Altogether this cost me approx £700.
The misus was none too happy just before xmas !!!!!!!!
He said the boring along would cost £45 upto 2 cuts. I originally was going to go to 90thou (1700cc) but this left me nowehre else to go if it needed
doing again. He told me for 90thou it would cost £90 for the bore.
Hope this helps.
Peter
