Can any one tell me the difference !!

Whats the difference between the 711m engine and the 891 engine and what car had the 891

711M blocks had;

Cam follower guides,bores & follower diameters approx 1/8 inch larger diameter and follower pads and lobes were consequently larger.

Crankshaft main journal caps were squarer and stronger.

Cylinder block design was slightly more robust.

In all the 711m was or used to be the better block.

The biggest give away as to which block is which is to read the casting tag on the side of the block.





Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.
