do i needa regulator to control power or can i get away with just fuseing them if i need one what is the best way to do this happy christmas to all

I'm assuming you're asking about whether the supply is good enough to run the dash gauges from or whether you'll need a regulator in
there to control the voltage etc?
If you're running a standard car engine with alternator, you should be able to get away with just putting a fuse in-line and wiring them up -
most alternators give a clean enough supply.

Most modern clocks are fine. I've got CAI/Smith guages which are OK, as are VDO. But earleir Smith guages do need a regulator. Check the donor
if using older guages.

Fit old style capillary/bourdon temp & pressure gauges and you don't need any electrics except the tachowiring and instrument ligts.
