st170 engine height

Or rather head? I read somewhere there is a difference in heights between the ST engine and a std zetec, anybody know how much?
I assume it is all in the head, so if anybody could even provide the max height of a head that would be very helpful....

cheers
Clive

I have a ST170 car that I was going to swipe the engine out of, to put in a seven. Haven't got round to it yet though. Here is a link that might help you. Dave

What exactly do you need measuring? I have an ST170 so can take whatever measurements you need.

Bottom of sump to top of vvt solenoid?
Bottom of head to top of vvt?

The vvt solenoid doesn't stick up more than an inch above the top often he rocker cover.

Max height bottom of head to top of the hump would be fantastic. Also distance of the hump from the front of the cam cover. just in case it gives me a smidge of extra space! (curved bonnet on the spitfire)

Hope these pics are of some help.

Bottom of head to top of the hump was hard to measure with all the standard cars gubbons attached but I make it 11 inches. Perhaps someone with a kit(without all the rubbish in the way) can confirm?
