Intake hose length

Hi all.

Just concerned about my length!

Am putting R1 carbs on a DanST manifold, on a blacktop.

Is the length of the intake hoses critical, or should I just get the carbs as close as possible to the manifold?

Also does anyone know a good starting point for main jet size? We will be getting it dynoed, but just want to get it running first? (will be running Nodiz, and a 4 branch exhaust, if it makes a difference).

Cheers

I can't comment from a dyno viewpoint on how different intake lengths affects power and torque, but on my BT the ZX6 carbs are mounted almost direct to the head with the original bike rubbers mounted on a 5mm ali plate.

I'm very happy with the way it goes.

Main jet only affects top 1\4 of throttle to wot.

Let the rolling road determine the correct size.
