BMW Timing Chain
What a poo week I've had. In the last month I've serviced the 120d, MOT'd it, new tyre and had the rear bumper painted on Monday. I
put it up for sale on Wednesday as I'm getting my new car at the end of March and the timing chain snapped 2 hours later.
Car is 2008 74000 miles and FSH. I've owned it for 6 years and I'm now finding out its a common problem!!
Looking at a 2k to 3.5K bill; gutted to say the least!!

I've done several of these and you can do them without removing the head once again the engine is out of the car . As it's snapped
I'd say a replacement engine with a new chain fitted will work out cheaper than repairing yours as you won't know what's happened to
the Pistons without a full strip down and the labour charges really go up then
