Ford V6 compatability help...
Can anyone tell me,
Are the engine - bellhousing bolt patterns the same on the BOA / B engines and the 3.0L Essex V6?.
Thanks.
Pete.

I am sure they are all the same, but I bet Burtons website will give you a definitive answer;
https://www.burtonpower.com/
If you cannot find the info online, I am sure they will be able to tell you via a phone call, their staff are very friendly and knowlegable

Bellhousing for Essex & Cologne are the same pattern
You can fit Type 9 which has removable bellhousing or MT75 which is built in
V6 bellhousing are different to inline as are the gear ratios and input shaft lengths, the top 2 bolts closer together than inline bellhousing.

Cheers guys,its for a Scimitar, I intended doing a V8, but, bought a car with interesting history, so thinking about a better engine which doesn’t
involve cutting the car.
If the Cologne is the same bell housing pattern, my best option I think is an injected 2.9.

The 2.9 V6 used by Oval Superrods uses a a 38DGAS on a modified manifold and I’ve seen 200bhp and similar ft/lbs which ain’t bad.
The Granada Cossy 2.9 would also be a good base
Good luck with the build

can confirm...essex and cologne do not share the same bolt pattern.
an interesting upgrade, still remaining the cologne bolt pattern, is the 4.0L ford explorer engine
