Thank you locostbuilders
A FEW WEEKS AGO I WENT ABOUT FITTING MY GEAR LEVER AND dashboard and found it was in a bit of a crappy position so went and asked on this forum about
what can be done, here's my original thread
http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=20773
There were lots of replies with a whole lot of helpfully information, one pointed to a guide which showed how to make and extension for the original
gear lever to sit on which is shown here
http://www.dwjenkins.plus.com/gear_extend.htm
I could manage to make one of them and ended up buying a westfield remote which works really well i was thinking it would make my already sloppy gear
lever even sloppier due to the added linkage but no it fits perfect ! now im not trying to promote westfield just writing about what i have found in
case others come across the same problem.
In reading Dave jenkins page it links to anoter guide on how to make your gear lever a short shifter , i read it and thought why mess around with a
already working gear lever but did it anyway and cant beleive the result ! My stick now feels perfect all the sloppy play that was there has gone and
it feels like brand new gearbox.
All i did was hit it with a hammer twice !
Heres the link

Well i dont want a reply just i hope this helps someone else.

I followed Davids design for both the remote and for the quickshift . Really precise and in the correct position for me {Im a short arse} Total cost
about 90 pence and a few bits of otherwise scrap pieces. well worth the effort. Rusty
