Dunnell Sump Capacity

Can anyone confirm the offical capacity for the Dunnell sump on a silvertop zetec is 4.5L?

My engine is pushing out oil since changing it and i have a feeling that i have put too much in! The dipstick hits the bottom of the sump then curls under, so is not really accurate enough etc to know where it should be. Time to drain it and measure it back out again

Yeah, I think that sounds about right. I'm sure I cant get 5 in my one.

Ah, I have a blacktop.

You could call Paul to double check?

can only go by what he has said to me, does seem a bit on the low side. Haynes quote 4.25L, so as it has been shortend and is not wider etc, would be about right?

Is the Dunnel sump actually unique to him or is it from somewhere else like Raceline?

Unique to him

He chops them and welds them up. At least my one is.

And the holes in the bottom of the sump don't line up with the bell housing.

I was told it wasn't an issue as the other 4 bolts are plenty strong enough.
