Windage tray/ oil pickup question
Apologies in advance but this is a tiptop question.
I'm fitting a volvo v8 into my 240 and need to modify the sump to clear the front crossmember. Im choosing the front and adding back the
volume as big wings but I need to re-route my oil pickup line. One option is to run it inside the windage tray, there is plenty of room. The other
option is to run it outside the sump.
Any advice or better ideas?

Am not aware of any manufacturers that put oil pick up lines outside the sump, so I'd keep it inside so that any holes just feed back into the
sump rather than all over the road.

I'm certainly no expert, but this seems logical (and safer) to me.

I take your points gents but wouldnt every turbo engine have external oil lines?
My preference would be to re route in side the sump.
