filler necks for fluid tanks???
For my highly modified Mazda RX-7, I'm going to build a custom coolant header tank, windscreen washer tank, oil catch can (puke tank) and swirl
pot. I can imagine some tricky things to make a nice set, probable stainless steel (polished, of course ) but can't see how to fab the necks.
They have to accept the caps, but I cannot see how. I guess buying these pieces would be easiest, but where?
Any ideas?

All depends on what the caps are like, got any pics of the caps?

no caps yet. either stock ones, or screw on ones, depending on what I can find.
I'll try to search for pics.

stock ones are something like this:

this is from the KIMINI site, but my caps look the same. I'd like screw on's for the oil-catch and water bottle. The swirl pot
doesn't need a cap, the header tank can either have a stock design (as pictured) or a screw on, if I can find one.

I was planning for stainless (I can't weld ally myself) but if it's neccessary, I'll go for ally and have some friend welding it.

If you don't have access to a lathe, i'm sure you can buy threaded sockets and caps in stainless, they use them in the diary and brewing
industries, should be available in most sizes with a BSP thread.

A mate of mine has been having this problem for a while now, he fabricates stainless parts, including tanks, and has been struggling for necks to put
on header tanks to take a proprietary pressure cap. You can get them in ally but not stainless and the proprietary caps are not BSP so you can't
use necks from the dairy suppliers.
He has had a load of stainless necks made to take vauxhall pressure caps, but the price was a bit painful, as they had to be made from solid as no
stainless tube is available with the right OD and enough wall thickness to make them!
One of his header tanks is on his website (still under construction)
