Mazda bits
My brother recently wrote off his MX5 in a rear impact. He has been told by the insurance company that he will be asked to pick the car up soon.
The car has an almost mint 1800 engine, and the gearbox and everything else to go with it, which has been offered to me if I need it. Is there any
chance that this will work in my Eagle SS, it currently has a broken 1600 Pinto.
Any bits needed from the car can be taken, but is this worthwhile?
Cheers,
Ed

Trust me, all these jokes have been used, I nearly pissed myself when he bought it.
He is planning to replace it with an RX7, I cannot wait to write that one off, twin turbo wankel engine

There's a guy over on the sylva list doing a Crossflow to Mazda Engine in his Striker.
IIRC he's using an Emerald ECU, but the keeping the Mazda Engine / Gearbox and mating it with the diff via a new Prop.

The Mazda MX5 is called the Miata in the states and will makean excelent chouce for the powertrain in your car , use the stock Efi and computer
Don't let the pinto / carb dinosaurs here put you off . Over the pond in the USA this is a very popular donor choice .I dont have the adress but
there is a chap on the Yahoo North america list who specialises in the MX5 by the name of Keith do a serch here
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Locost_North_America/ and you will get the "Good OIl"
Hope this helps
