Help Wanted: Duratec 2.5 RWD
Greetings,
Does anyone here know if the Ford MT75 rwd transmission has an identical bolt pattern to the MTX75 fwd transmission? Will they swap right out to
allow you to mount the Duratec 2.5 (our Cougar and Contour; your Mondeo) inline for a RWD car?
Thanks,
Bryce

I have not done that swap, but.........the mtx 75 transmission fits the old zetec and old I4 twincam/16v twincam engines, and these certainly have the
standard ford bolt pattern, so I would assume that such a swap is ok.

Yes. The only Ford engine with a different bellhousing pattern is the new Mazda-derived Duratec Inline 4. The V6 should be fine.

And the 1.25, 1.4, 1.6 and 1.7 Zetec SE engines

The MTX75 came of my Zetec and the MT75 is going back on ...
You will need a 19mm spacer on the release bearing ...Westfield do these for about 55 quid(with bearing)......Asuming the flywheel and clutch are same
as 2l which also has MTX75 box...........
Is the motor going in a 7esq...Its a very nice looking motor with over 150bhp as standard .But its huge and would cost a mint to install...........in
my opinion

the only bad thing is that its very wide -> its a 90 deg block, but it is all ally.
