Weber 38 DGAS re-jetting
I have just bought a Weber 38 DGAS to replace the standard Ford VV Carb on my Pinto (2.1 lires, unleaded head conversion with tubular exhaust
manifold).
I have been recommended the following re-jet settings by 2 different sources for a 2.0 Pinto:
Webcon:
mains 145
airs 185
idle 45
pump 45
idle air bush 145
Burton Power (RS2000 settings)
Mains - 155 (or 160 for 2.1 Pinto)
Air - 185
Idle - 45
Emulsion - F50
Pumps – 60
I have been advised that it is important to change the idle air bushes. A pig of a job, as apparently they have to be drilled out!
This is sounding more complicated and expensive than I first thought.
Could I ask what re-jetting anyone else has done with this upgrade?
I am starting to wonder If I should just go for a straight swap with a 32/36 DGAV (again with manual choke conversion) and sell the 38...

Hi Darren
This is the quote I have had:
mains £3.20 pair
airs £3.40 pair
idle £3.60 pair
em.tube £19.00 pair
pump £8.00
Not to mention also having to source & buy a manual choke kit!

You'd be better off spending your money on a rolling road session. That way you don't spend money on stuff you don't need and you
know it's right when you've finished.
Cheers

sounding like it could be the option - sounds like a lot of people rejet the carb once it's on the car.
Fuel economy not a massive concern as the car only does 2000 - 3000 miles a year. So long as it's smooth & responsive I'm ok.
It is just nice to have a car with immediate mid range urge when you are blatting around the lake district and happen upon a tractor!
