Gearbox for a C20XE
Recently I bought an C20XE engine for my locost. Now I was looking for a gearbox to use with it. Now I have found an Omega B gearbox from the year
2000
It came out a car with a Y22XE engine. It has run only about 300 miles and cost 300 euro, that's about 200 pounds, which I think is quit cheap.
And it has a hydraulic clutch.
Will this be a good gearbox for a locost?
And will the gearratio's be any good for a locost?
And afcourse, will it fit a C20Xe engine?

Most of your answers can be found here. The gear ratio's in both types of box
tend to be poor as standard, as in their original homes they have quite low first gears, for getting a loaded car and a caravan moving on steep
inclines - which isn't much use in a Locost!
Not sure on fitement for definate, but I *think* it would fit if you wanted to use it.

The Y22XE clutchplate is 228mm as the C20XE plate. Works perfekt with the standard C20XE flywheel.
