Clutches

Going to get a new clutch in between my engine and gearbox before they go back together. Rather than spend £90 on a 3 piece oem replacement, can I spend the same on a shiny new AP racing friction plate from Burtons and reuse the old cover and bearing? It is designed for the XR4i and is the same diameter (actually 1mm smaller) than the old clutch.

It is a standard plate style clutch, not a paddle affair.

Cheers,

Ed
