Speedometer cable is way to long

Hello,

I thought that I had chosen the easiest way when I fit the original instrument cluster from my donor Sierra. Now I realise that the original speedometer cable is much to long.

How can I reduce the lenght of this cable? Or is there an cable from an diffrent car thats fits? I use an Type N 5speed gearbox.

Cheers,

Roy.

Try using a circuituitous route from the gearbox to the speedo and you should be OK if you avoid sharp bends. Alternatively there are some cables that are compatible and shorter - ask a Ford dealer, I think the Transit van uses the same couplings but is shorter.
