Fiat radiator

I can get an Aluminium Fiat Radiator for cheap that fit really nice in my chassis. The thing is the radiator has a cap to fill it and a small water outlet for a reservoir in the std application.

What should i do with this outlet, becuase the radiator is lower than the engine so the cap can't be used to fill the system, the same for the small outlet.

Thanks a lot
Gonzalo

Is it the crossflow Panda type with white/cream coloured tanks --- I have a damaged one lying in my parts shad that I saved to take the fan off. Certainly size wise it is OK I will have a look at it.

Hi, this radiator cames from a fiat 147 and does not have a tank at one side, only the cap in the top (middle), but I think I should block the small outlet in the cap and use an expansion tank.

I used a new old stock fiat 147 rad due to size. The rad cap is not for filling so ignore it, the small diameter overflow on the neck of the cap tube goes to my expansion tank....easy!

Thanks a lot!

I plan to use this radiator with a 1.8 zetec, wich engine are you using, is enough for cooling it?

Also the Zetec has an outlet in the thermostat housing that goes to an expansion tank, maybe I should use both, or simply leave the radiator one blocked.

Thanks again

Honest answer is I dont know, sorry. Only ran it a small distance so far, though this weekend intend to take it for a longer one...will let you know. The size is the biggest you can fit under std nose, only single though but should be enough. I have wired a switch for fan to dash in case. Its a VW 1.8 lump, basically a tuned golf motor putting out 150 horses.
