Ford cologne to an LT77 can it be done?
Hello,
pick your brains if I may.....
I need to join the BL LT77 gearbox to the Granny 2.8i, has anyone ever come accross a bellhousing/adapter that will do it?
cheers

Surely it would be easier to use a type 9 gearbox from a Capri?

I already have a type 9.
The LT77 is in the landy and has a transfer box attached, you can't use a 9 in a land rover. :-(

Try Steve Parker in Rochdale. They fit that lump in Series Landys and should know if it'll fit an LT77.

Why not use a Pug diesel engine?
I think the the old Sherpa vans used Pugs and the box may fit straight on.

I've seen it done in a landy so certainly it CAN be done, but no idea of details I'm afraid!
Is the cologne bellhousing pattern the same as the essex 3ltr v6?
There's certainly plenty of adaptors around for those.

lt77
does that box fit on a rover v8 if so wouldent it be cheaper to change to the rover v8 than to get a special bellhousing
i am not to sure about this but some one will confirm or correct me

Probably ( i do have a couple of 8 pots) but was trying to not go down to 17mpg like on my GT6.
The granny engine is efi so poss get 20-25mpg in a landy.
ah well, thanks to all.
