There was an argument recently put forward by dave Walker that a Pinto could be made to run as well as a zetec for not a lot of money. Conversion to 2.2 was about £550 in bits (self assembly). Motor bike carbs and megajolt = not a lot more. With zetec conversion youd have to buy new exhaust and youll still need megajolt or similar plus a few other bits.

If you fancy 16V then go for it - makes sense to me. If you want to keep old school = pinto. Im slanting towards making the Pinto better purely as ive missed out on carb tuning and engine mods in my youth so am interested in it - fill in the learning curve.

Yes, that's correct.

There is a section in the current issue about a pile of mags getting knicked last month (turning up on market stalls allegedly) and WHS being out of stock. I certainly found that issue harder to find.

Their web address is:
http://www.ppcmag.co.uk/

Of all the tuning magazines I find it probably the most 'practical'. (Dave Walker and David Vizard are regular writers).
