Should you be able to attach a magnet to a stainless exhaust?
As the lolocost on that I brought can, is this wrongful advertising by lolocost?.

Hi Scutter,
There's a post about stainless fasteners elsewhere that will give you all the info you need ( and then some) about S/steel. To sum it up though
some is,some aint!
Do yourself a favour and sell the lolo silencer and buy a good one! The exhaust on my '97 RH fell apart very quickly, and when disected
contained no silencing material. I replaced it with a Custom Chrome repackable unit which is a hell of a lot better. The guys there told me that they
sold a lot to Hoodies whose exhausts had failed very quickly.
Hope this helps

Brought and paid for, not selling it on now.
So I can't complain really.
Cheers Dan.

Some grades of stainless are magnetic due to lower chrome and nickel content. I think most exhaust systems are made of 304 which is magnetic and will
also go a rusty colour unless polished regularly.
I have made my downpipe from 50mm 316 grade that i was lucky enough to find in the skip at work, this is non magnetic and also less prone to
cracking.

The cheap grade of stainless that will stick to a magnet is 409 grade, 304 and 316 are non magnetic.

Custom Chrome 01203 387808
www.custom-chrome.co.uk- this doesn't work!!!!
As for price,I can't remember! It was £70/80 ish some years ago from the Exeter show. Quality great and they know their onions(and exhausts)
If they are told that there are over 1000 users of this forum, they might be persuaded to offer a discount Nothing ventured.............
Hope this helps

what about making it outta mild steel (easy to weld) and then get it cerami-chrome coated. lookes good and costs about 80 for the full exhaust system
and keeps in the heat. i think the website is.http://www.camcoat.u-net.com/
