What's more boring - 1300 X'Flow or 4 speed box?

As long as you use a clutch with the correct amount of splines you can mate any type9 box really. Problem being that using a 1.6 7.5" 23 splined
clutched with a 1.6 5 speed type 9 you aint gonna get close ratios.
Quick table
The ford boxes that as standard had close ratios were the 2.8 v6 ones if i remember (as used by caterham)
Problem with the v6 boxes = longer input shafts.....
Solution would be a 2.0 clutch with a second hand 2.0 type 9 containing a close ratio kit from a rally spares place.
Hope that might help

You must be rich if you are planning to use a proper close ratio 5 speed box! For slick gearchanges the 4 speed is better any day - have you driven
cars with both types? - I have.
And by the way - LIGHTEN UP!
