To Donor or not to Donor?
I am going to start a build whitin the next month or so once I have decided what to do with bike. I'm not sure yet wether to use bike engine or car
engine,as i have a GSXR 750 which i could strip and use engine and electrics.
750 engine is 98bhp but obviously lacking in torque,but a 750 engine has same casings block,and head as 1100 and bandit twelve so if i base my build
around my engine i could always get an 11 or 12 at a later date.
So what i would like to know is could i use my registration from my bike?
Also would i get pissed off with reving the tits off the thing and be better off going for a 2.0 pinto 2.0 dohc as i will be carrying passenger some
of the time.

No, you cant carry the registration over from any donor.
A lot of people use bike engines. It seems that the common one is a Fireblade, and at the Stoneleigh show, it seemed the Hyabusa was in favour.
100hp from a bike engine, in a car thats likely to weigh about 500 kilo is gonna give you 200bhp per tonne, which is pretty hot and would be good for
an estimated 6 - 6.5 secs thereabouts to 60.
You need to talk to John Ison on here who has a bike engined car. I have used a big old ford V6 as my car is an adaptation of the seven concept, but
if you are tring to keep to the spirit of low weight and high performance, then a bike engine has gotta be the way.
A lot of people seem to be happy with revvong the balls off of their cars, and a sequential gear shift seems to be a neat touch.
Do you want to be a boy racer or a cruiser - theres the choice.....

It will also depend on the current value of the bike. A Sierra donor can be bought for maybe £50-£500, perhaps the bike is worth more?

ohhh, yeap, I was thinking cost was no object !
I have heard a blade engine can be bought for about 1200 quid, so if the bike is worth more, you could use the sale monet to buy the blade engine and
have some money for the build

ohhh, yeap, I was thinking cost was no object !
