DGAS Rebuild
Looks like I have to rebuild and service my 38 DGAS, I seem to have petrol leaking from what I think is called the power pump or accellerator pump.
Where's the best place to get a rebuild/service kit from?
Any online guides on how to service it? or books worth buying?
Never stripped a carb before, is it worth paying someone to do it for me or is it simple enough to do myself?
Cheers

I don't think I've ever owner a weber carb that didn't, at somtime or another, split it's accelerator pump diaphragm.
Very easy to replace (4 screws), but you might as well get the full service kit and replace all the bits. I'd have a go and see how you get on.
Burton Power and Europa Spares do the kits (you may want to compare prices). Ebay is also a good source.
HTH
Have fun,
Bill

I've check an old haynes maunal I have for the ford cortina. Goes into detail about stripping and rebuilding the DGAV (very similar to the
DGAS). It may be that the equivalent manual for one of the old ford V6s may have the same info for the DGAS?

carbs are very simple to work on, just group the parts for each section together and just take your time. I'm always stripping then on my cars
as I like to keep them clean. Get the manual for your car ans you'll manage fine.
