The quaife one depends on spec.
IMO they are cheap enough to be disposable.

I think Westfield use the type 9 in their Sport 2000S, which produces 250bhp, and I can't imagine that the Sierra Cosworth used anything bu the
type 9 with different ratio's.
No doubt I'll be corrected though!

I had a very handy article on it from PPC about 6 months ago. It talks about what bolts up to what, how much they can take, and what parts are
available. It also gives a very good schematic as far as I remember. Someone out there must have a copy kicking about?!
Oh and to the best of my knowledge, the Sierra box (T-5) is a Borg-Warner box. One of the strongest factory produced boxes available). And
didn't the 2000S use a sequential box?

that must be the t5 theyre using
usually a type 9 goes bang at 150-170bhp depending on the car and the driver.
The mt-75 will take 300+bhp

Not strictly true, there are plenty of people putting about 200bhp through T9s on here and no trouble. A lightweight car will spin the wheels up
before you will break the box.
Do a search, it been discussed umpteen times before.

noy only that a lightweight car wont load the transmission up as much so theyll survive longer .
tbh honest tho a saab on a t9 is asking for trouble with the torque that engine makes , unless it has some quaife bits in it .

a t5 will be cheaper than anything from quaife - usually find them for £250 upwards .
if u know a man who can tho - importing them from the states is a good idea .

150 bhp max
This was a figure quoted by the manufacturer when in production.
However as you already know guys are putting a lot more than that through them including me (200 bhp) , with little ill effect.
They are cheap and plentiful and even if you have to replace parts they are easy to find and relativly cheap.

Are you sure??? Seems a bit strange as Henry fitted them to v6 capri's which had more than 150bhp as standard.
