engine oil
if it was your car and it overheated do you think you need to change the oil (would it of been cooked beyond its limits) or would you leave it in.

If the engine is still okay, the oil's probably okay. On the other hand, an oil change is always cheap insurance...

If you didn't boil over too much, (and took it easy when you noticed the gauge) then your temp shouldn't have got high enough to damage
the oil. I reckon you would be ok to leave the oil alone but check the pressure if you can - if it is running below normal then change it.
