crossflow sorted!

took carb off car and stripped all jets, etc and found a load of crystals below the emulsion tube (which didn't want to come out) on the primary barrel. this crud was blocking that main jet also. i hadn't noticed it before because of artificial light in shed. i only noticed when i took it outside into sunlight! after a good soak in carb cleaner and blowning out with airline, i rebuilt carb, refitted it, and , hey presto!, she runs perfectly! i have discovered a small hiccup in as much that the speedo reads 40mph when the car is doing 60mph! (i'm using mini speedo, escort 4speed box, sierra lsd, 14in wheels!) today, put brake fluid in, bled brakes and drove it up garden track and back. MINT!

Speedy Cables can recalibrate the speedo for you for not an awful lot of money.
