engine holding back!

While out for a blat yesterday noticed engine holding back at full throttle,(half way through an overtake,not the best place to play silly buggers!)back off throttle a bit and power returns!!! where should i start fiddling?

Fuel.


Choked jet(s)

Clogged filter

Weak pump.

Fuel flow problem ---- not enough fuel getting through to float chambers.

First place to look is for a problem between the suction side of the pump and the tank.

was thinking fuel problem, will check it out.I didn't build the car so not sure if everything is as it should be,found a few bodges in other areas so far!

Sorry, should have mentioned it's a gsxr 1000 k2 engine, fuel injection, looks like fuel pump from the doner bike,is that up to the job?
