Pinto Starters

Just a quicky,

Are there many different types of pinto starters?

Mine went last week and been as though money is a bit tight I got a cheap starter off here (long body as opposed to the sort body one i have) went to fit it today and noticed the throw on the cog on the long body starter i just got was shorter than the one i currently have and doesnt reeach the fly wheel.

So are there only to types?, do i need to the sort body one again as i had before?

There dosnt appear to be any marking or part number on the old one so hard to get a replacement using that

Cheers in advance

There is at least two types of Pinto starter although one is for manual transmission the other for auto . For a high compression engine the auto has more torque
