multi-v pulleys

Where is the cheapest place to buy some multi-v pulleys for a mini denso alternator (15mm shaft ?)..
? Ideally in aluminium

I modified a std ford alt pulley to fit on the denso shaft with some lathe work and a sleeve for the shaft..

Ideally I want a slightly larger pulley to reduce the alt:eng rpm ratio.. I suspect its around 3:1 as std, but I want lower as not to over spin the little alternator...

Look in the toyota lexus daihautsu corner,

I have a few pulley's on the shelf at home so I can't measure them up for you at the moment.
I'm exchanging pulleys on the lexus v8 alternator to fit a much smaller 4age alternator, the shafts all seem to be the same, getting the locknut loose is a nightmare, is there an easy way of stoping the shaft from spinning besides clamping the pulley itself in a vise?

how many ribs on the belt do you need? 5 6 or 8.

In terms of ribs, it will be to match a zetec-E crank pulley - not sure how many Vs they are..

From what I remember, the shaft on my other mini denso alternator (on a Zetec-S Engine) had a hex end, which allows you to hold the shaft with a 12mm socket say, and use a big ring spanner to tighen/loosen the main locking nut..

just found a photo..

I e-mailed an alternator refurbisher on Ebay and he sent me a few pulleys from knackered alternators for beer money....

Not aliminium though....
You can get custom ones but they cost about 100 quid...

I cannot belive how stupid I am to have missed that, will check tonight if that bolt is also on the lexus jobbie.

thanx

ps:
I doubt that alloy pulleys are lighter than the normal pressed steel ones, those are very light, must be good for bling though

ps2:
that's a 6rib belt as you can see in the picture will take some measurements tonight aswell

A decent air impact gun gets the nut off in seconds without having to clamp the pulley in a vice.
