DOM tube threading

I've got some 3/4" (19.05mm) OD x 1/8"(3.175mm) wall DOM tubing i want to use for my wishbones.

The upper ball joint im using has an M16 thread. I will be able to thread the inside of the tube directly to accept the M16 ball joint. If i do this i would have approx 1.5mm between the surface of the tube and the trough of the internal thread.

This too little meat in my opinion and just wanted to get others views. Whats the minimum you would go to

the min i would leave is the same as the book 3.5 mm as they say to use 25mm
