Suggestions please
As a true Scott and never being one to miss a bargain, I have gone a bought some thing else for my collection of engineering marvels (junk according
to the wife).
I always fancied a big engine (bigger than the v6) so I bought this. At less than £1.00 per BHP and 75p per foot pound its got to be a bargain and I
know it sounds fantastic. Comes with 4 speed auto box all ancillarys, ECUs and loom.
(Score points by telling the engine and vehicle it came from)
But what do i do with it,
Would it fit in the Viento?
Is the next project a Cobra?

Make a great boat anchor. Far to heavy for a car

Ok its a 5.0l V8 from a Merc sel 500
With alloy head and block its 202 kgs
BOAT ANCHOR
Not really a boat anchor when you consider its 65kgs less than a Chevy small block .
Its less than twice the weight of a 2.0l Zetec but got more than twice the power.
Its 20 kgs heavier than a Ford V6 duratec but over 100hp more.
It has 365lbs/foot of torque compared to the Rover v8's 210lbs /foot.
So, ok its old and it don't look much but it can push 1900kgs of merc to 60mph in less than 7 secs.
Its done 65k and , it came from a car belonging to the then Chancellor of the Exchequer, bit ironic in these green and eco friendly times.
Here it is with its clothes on
I dont think it would suit the Viento as the Alfa V6 sits in there nice.
But who knows whats round the corner

it came from a car belonging to the then Chancellor of the Exchequer,
Does that mean it will be able to set it's own rate of tax Brilliant. It's ideal for a Cobra, anybody building one?
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
