identifing zetec engine numbers

ive got a 2litre zetec engine, but have wire brushed the block to try and identify the engine number, the last few numbers are clear but the rest are quite heavily corroded, thought i had heard about using some sort of acid to try and lift the numbers. any ideas? thanks

Hi i painted the number then sanded the block this made the number stand out + i took a photo of it with a flash gun this seemed to help to read it
