zetec 2.0l or 1.8l?
i have a mondeo i got to take the engine out of but i'm not sure if it is 1.8 or 2.0 as the engine number doesn't seem to be there, is it
possible that the engine was replaced with a new one by ford and doesnt have a no? as it doesnt look to be grinded off or anything?
cheers

The engine number is at the clutch end. You don't need it to tell the engine size though as their is either an 18 or 20 raised on the block to
denote the size.

1.8's do have 1.8 cast in at the no 3 cylinder position. I cleaning mine yesterday to make it look like Robo's ^^^soon, and it says 1.8.

in the first pic, where the lifting hook is at the side of the rocker cover there is usually stamp there. this one hasn't got any thing there, i
know were it is on the block, but the engine is still in the car, so its a bit trickey to see wit the exhaust an all still on.

IIRC when you get to take the thermostat and the ignition pack off there may be a bar code label on the head which has the engine number on it
