Emmission Regs
A friend of mine has finally got his 1984 BMW restoration finished after three years and says he's been told it will have to comply with latest
emmission regs for mot.
This is obviously wrong and I said that afk it should be visible smoke only but that I'd check on here.

If he has only restored it it should be tested on the original age of the car which i think is as you say visiblesmoke only
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

As above, it won't be visible smoke at that age but it will only be the correct level for the year of the car!

Thanx for that guys. My friend was going around thinking he'd have to scrap it, cos too complicated to get it to comply with latest regs.
Would have been quite funny but s'pose with the eco nazis on full throttle it'll happen someday.
