Suzuki GSX-R K5

I would like to hear some opinion on the 2005 Suzuki GSX-R engine. What about oil surge problems, performance, reliability etc?
Any reply will be valuable!

As no one seem to be replying to your question here's my two penneth.
I am a big fan of these motors. The fact that there are not more Suzuki 1000 BEC's is, in my view, down to the fact that all the available motors are snapped up for competition use. The very fact which, for me, proves their worth. If you have found one at the right price then go for it.
We have used these motors since 2003 in World Sidecar where they dominate the championship. In 07 out of 21 permanent teams only two were not Suzuki powered. These were both Honda 1000 CBR RR motors. The best result for a Honda was one 3rd place at the Sachsenring and Suzukis took 1st to 5th and 7th to 20th places in the final WC standings.
Almost all the bikes use a short sump developed for the Suzuki motor which is aroung 20-25mm thick enabling a low motor installation and there are no oil surge problems.
In terms of relaibility there are always a few breakages but these are mainly down to the abuse they recieve! 13,100 rev limiters together with drivers who are not always as gentle as they could be have seen a few rods break and the odd dropped valve. Gearboxes and clutches are generally standard items and put up well with the abuse heaped on them.
These motors need a good airbox and they are beautiful to drive with lots of low down grunt and a howling top end.
