temp gauge
just doing some prelim wiring - zetec silver top 1.8.. one question..
ecu needs a sensor to tell it the water temp - use the themostat housing connection on the top - so where does the engine temp gauge connection go?
double up to the same connection? if the ecu is being told the temp it will do for the gauge - am i right? i have seen the ally connectors for the top
hose where a probe is inserted to for it - is that the only option? more money???????? lol ???
also sorry second question what is the lower connection for on the thermostat housing?
cheers guys

Zetec thermostat has the big sensor on the top I believe is for the ECU and a smaller one on the side for the temp gauge...
Thats what mine looks like anyway

You must use the lower sensor for the gauge, dont try and run gauge and ecu from the same sensor as it will cause them both to work incorrectly.
I think the lower sensor is just a spade terminal, if not a local scrapyard is the easiest bet.
