Sierra 1600 CVH Thermostat

Hi All
I need to replce the thermostat on my Sierra daily-hack. The Haynes 'Book of Words' is far from clear but it seems that I need some kind of retaining clip and a seal. Is anyone familiar with the parts and are they likely to be dealer only.

TIA.

TC

I just picked one up for a 2.0 pinto.

The motor factors had listed a 'thermostat' alone or a 'thermostat kit' which contained the thermostat plus the rubber washer. The motor factors couldn't find a part number for the spring washer so you'd probably have to go to Ford if you wanted a new one.

In the end I re-used both the spring washer and rubber washer as they were in good condition.

Most GOOD auto accessory/motor factors will be able to supply a thermostat fitting kit specific to you car and this should include any retaining rings as required.
