Rolling road :)
Just had my car rolling roaded at Austec in Crawley. It feels totally transformed as it was running quiet lumpy
Its a 4age 20 VVTi Silvertop.
I managed 152.5bhp and 115.3 lbf.ft of torque which is what I was hoping for from a 1600cc.
Its solved the hunting at idle and revs up very cleanly and smoothly.
Shame it threw a speedo magnet while on a power run, it feels great but I don't know how fast its going
Austec are highly recommended, very nice guys indeed

Roughly how much did they charge.
Mines in on Saturday and I have that "I'm going to get fleeced feeling about me" .
I used to be apathetic but now I just don't care.

It cost £180+VAT and I was there for around 3 hours while they did a complete setup on the car.
As its completely transformed the car it is money well spent.

You shouldn't really compare differnet dyno results but those figures are very similar to several good silvertops I've seen on the rollers
I use regularly.

I'm pleased the numbers stack up - I was hoping for 150bhp so I'm pleased with the result
Question is what next?
1-Lightweight flywheel?
2-Engine mods?
What is the cheapest power gain I can achieve without going down the Rotrex Supercharger route?

Basically more revs and more breathing!
The silvertop head can be improved by re-shaping the valve seats and having the exhaust ports enlarged to match the blacktop. The inlet side already
has very good flow (like the blacktop). The limiting factor is the tiny cam follower buckets which restricts the choice of cam to fairly mild lift.
I had my head flowed and I used an exhaust cam only made by CAT cams. That increased power to 162BHP and 125 lbs ft of torque. So not huge gains
compared to other engines but they are already good for a 1600cc engine! I will say though that I was preparing for the Rotrex install so the mods
were kept quite mild.
I use an ally flywheel and yes it makes as noticeable difference to the feel of the engine.
Sabre Heads, OMEX, BPJ Services, RAW Engineering and Mech Motorsport are the companies I would say have good experience with the 4AGE 20V engines in
the UK.

Thanks Bimble - I might start with the flywheel and see how it feels. Won't change the power obviously but should help it spin up.
Which flywheel did you go for? I've seen the Fensport Fidenza Flywheel but not sure if I have any other options.

I have a Fidanza ally flywheel but it wasn't very well balanced when I assembled the Silvertop engine. The Toyota bits though were very well
balanced from the factory. I've heard better things about the steel flywheels and the blacktop flywheel is lighter if you can find one.
